I graduated from N.C. State in 1992 with a BA in English, LWE (Language, Writing, Editing). While being a software engineer at IBM, I started teaching language arts residencies as a CAPS (Creative Arts in the Public Schools) visiting artist. This is where some of my early beginnings in working with shapes began. In 1992, I published (So, You Want to Do Bread Dough Art). From there I started working with other mediums and specifically glass applying some of those same ideas to create my mosaics. I have a studio where I teach mosaic skills (cutting, scoring, mounting and grouting) and continue to tutor language arts (native tongue English and second language learners; (Duke University 2003) always integrating art into my custom designed workshops. I am self taught and have exhibited locally in Durham, North Carolina at several venues.
